The Original Nathan’s

This Saturday, I ran the Brooklyn Half Marathon (my first half marathon ever) with a time of 1:38! The course was basically two loops around Prospect Park, and then straight down Ocean Ave all the way to the boardwalk at Coney Island. Results for the race are available here, at the New York Road Runners website.

So what’s a girl to do after running 13.1 miles at 9 in the morning in Coney Island? Get a Nathan’s hot dog of course!

Coney Island is the home of the original Nathan’s hot dog stand, and the site of the infamous annual hot dog eating contest.  I opted for the original with onions, and the bf ordered the original with sauerkraut and onions. We capped off this delicious post-race meal with an order of their original old fashioned lemonade and a side of chili-cheese fries.  Not the healthiest recovery meal, but heck, when in Coney Island … you can’t NOT have a Nathan’s dog!

I can haz fries?
